Maybe Gil is wasped, but can resist the command voice a bit? Maybe that is part of his dad's "heir to the Wulfenbach empire must be strong and stuff"-training. And Agatha and Zola don't have the exact voice as Lucrezia.
And about the poison? Anyone think that's just a side effect? Or was it just really set up by Tarvek?

Too many possibles, himpossible to predict here.

Gil isn't thinking straight, and the Baron is getting him to fill in the blanks of his lie. He might end up convincing himself that his father is telling him the truth, or maybe end up giving away a lot of what Tarvek was telling him. Like, for instance, that Dupree is dosed with an experimental chemical that provides slaver immunity (which could go either way... if Klaus is bound by the wasp to serve Lucrezia's interests, that's Dupree's death sentence, but if he can still weasel his way around Lucrezia's commands it might be an opportunity for him to do some additional damage to her schemes).
But if Gil gets his head on straight he'll see a lot of holes in the story. If the chemical was poison, then Tarvek could not simultaneously have wanted to dose Gil with it and serve Lucrezia's interests... either the formula wasn't poison or Tarvek is working against Lucrezia by killing a valuable pawn. There's also the coded-message-via-idiot-storyteller, the fact that Agatha (who Klaus has been trying to equate with the Other) hasn't been able to actually order him around, and the flaw via Dupree that he's already pointed out (though the Baron might still try to spin that as "Dupree was working with them").
Of course, now that this comic has gotten me so worked up that I felt compelled to sign up and post about the comic for the first time, I'm going to be worrying about whether Gil is going to use his gigantic sparky brain for something other than filling in the gaps in Klaus's lie for him. Won't be able to see that until Wednesday (or Friday if the authors are feeling especially cruel this week).

Tarvek iz very avare he gots dangerous opponent in Lucrezia. De von in Agatha shot him in der back. He iz allied vit Agatha. He meybe dun't like Gil und Klaus, but he need dem right now. 'specially since hit appear dot somevon in Der Order or der fifty families had him infected vit Hogfarbs Respendant Immolation just before Violette gets him out of der Great Hospital.
