Yeah, a real woman in armor looks very like a small young man in armor. Very disappointing for the chainmail bikini/hooters breastplate enthusiasts, but truee.

That's not a breastplate, that's a battle-ready bustier!

I always figured fantasy artists heard the term "breastplate" and figured they could, ahem, infer what one looked like based on the name. On another note (no pun intended), there were theories earlier about the... unpleasantness... of hearing the Doom Bell ring at point-blank range. From the way the Castle's talking to Hammer-boy here, it sounds like those theories were spot-on. The Castle always seems to get a little more polite just before it converts humans into... entertainment.

Rather off subject but still relevant is the matter of the page number. This is page 153. The previous page is 151.
This apparently is an effort by the authors to align page numbers to enable their "hat trick" of having three double page spreads in a single volume.
But it means that two new pages need to be added before this gets printed. One page between Page 6 (second page of the Library) and page 92 (first page of start of the Battle of Mechanicsburg) and another bewteen page 93 and page 153.
Since the first page of the volume is now page 5, which is an odd number, all following double page spreads must have an odd numbered page as the first half. Page 92 is even and would result in back-to-back printing. By making this page 153 instead of 152, it means that the next page is in sync with the last double pager after they add a page between them.
I just hope this means a double page spread for the ringing of the Doom Bell.
I also hope they wait to add the pages until after the Doom Bell.

As I have said elsewhere, standing on the deck of the tower while the Doom Bell rings is a Bad Plan, and running for the stairs and being inside the tower is a Verra Bad Plan. Jägerkin and other Medhanicsburgers may rejoice, but Oublenmach will be having a rotten time.

Another minor point, as I don't think he'll be with us much longer, is Oublenmach's hands. Weren't they mechanical before? Or, at least, he was wearing gloves.

Yeah they seemed to be either mechanical or he wore blackened metal gloves, as late as the earlier stair scene he was still wearing them.
