Brother Ulm said it eats coal, oil, metal, wood. He didn't mention stone. Of course, I'm not sure how much energy it can get from metal it would get very little from stone. I suppose, though, thst a magnetic field would keep it stationary and therefore not smashing it way out of confinement. I still wonder whether Lady Selnikov wanted to free the Beast or whether she had something else in mind.
