Well they needed something to prevent the castle from becoming an auto-win feature. Why not "batteries not included"?

I'd love to see the Heterodyne artifact (Gil's water globe) hooked to to a converted telescope to huge, scary death ray.
As for the tiny monsters ... I live in Texas where the fire ants will stake you to the ant hill. Tiny monsters, begone!

As to von Zinzer being Chief Minion, from the Castle's point of view, sure. He was the first minion the Castle saw with her, he has successfully commanded other minions in a difficult repair job. and most importantly, he has first rate Spark wrangling skills. That last is a rare and precious gift in a world of Mad Science!

three years? yikes. that beyond a tactical problem, and right into a serious strategic problem. she now has to find a way to not only stop this invasion, but the ones that will follow it while repairs are done and batteries are charged. heck, theres a good chance she may have a wedding (or two?) before the castle reaches full power.
i rather expect that finding a faster way to power the castle will become a priority before then.

This means Gil is the short term key to the situation. The external attackers are Wulfenbach and Sturmhalten, that is, forces that should respond to Gil and Tarevk respectively.

There's some play in that. Gkika said an army is coming up the pass from Sturmhalten, which isn't the same as the Sturmhalten Army.

I'm thinking Geisterdamen. Possibly with those hive engines they extracted from the city before the Baron's arrival... wonder if the Doom Bell affects revenants?
