Well today's page kind of answered my question on the hatstand about what was going on with Klaus shipping people off there.
I'm not sure how much of a punishment detail it is though. I reckon a sneaky prisoner could get friendly with the Castle and strike an alternative deal, and thus 'escape'. It's certainly worth a try.

Given how the TPU expedition got along, I don't think there's much "wiggle room". For that matter, Klaus supplies more labour in future, an escapee doesn't... but were you thinking of someone in particular? I wonder what -does- happen if a true Heterodyne enters the Castle... the Jagers can once again drive sheep over the Gatemount Cliff?? :-)

I was thinking that anyone who knew about a Heterodyne heir, as does Von Zinzer, could perhaps use that to his advantage.
"Let me go and I will bring the Heterodyne to you" sort of thing.
